hey eveyone,
I have two platium mollies that I got at the same time about 3 months ago. They both are active, growing, little boogers. One is a little larger than the other and very shiny platium, but i've noticed over the last few weeks the other one is getting a darker color. Anything to worry about, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Water stats would be good in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
If there ative and not hiding away I wouldn't worry.

As wilder states. probably not a problem if they are acting OK. Most mollies are so inbred that they can change colour as they get older. Water stats would help identify and possible problems in your tank.

Ammonia and clorine 0, nitrate, 0, nitrite 0, ph 7.0 swortails and pleco doing fine. just wondered about the mollie ( I did get her at a chain pet store) Thanks for the Help.

My dalmation mollies all get darker with age-maybe its the same with your platinums- I'm sure its just normal. The trouble is with my dalmations are, with a young darkish dalmation by the time hes an adult he's black!

What is your tap nitrate reading.
Darker in colour can be a sign of illness, but if she not acting lethagic or showing any other signs I would just keep an eye on her for now.
