i have some plants with holes, only the water wisteria and the aponogeton ulvaceous.

i have 2.7 wpg in a 46 gallon, and i use liquid fertilizer.

whats wrong with the plants?

Holes can also be caused by a potassium deficieny. What sort of fertilizer are you using? If you can, post the type of fertilizer you're using and the "Guaranteed Analysis" off the back. I can't entirely decipher it (yet), but I know a few other members here can. Do you inject CO2 at all? Do the holes appear on older lower growth? How does the new growth look compared to previuos growth you've observed before the holesGive as many specifics as you can (where the holes are(old growth/new/all), colouration around the holes, how new growth looks, any test reading you can get, etc...) and good help is soon to follow, I'm sure!

i think it can be some type of critter in there... first of all it seems like its more of a path than a whole, kinda what like a worm makes.
but ive looked around carefully, every hour or so for the whole day and i dont see anything that could do that.

how could i remove a critter, but i cant find him......
lol

thanks

Potassium deficiency - Pinholes appear in older leaves, and slowly enlarge Yellow areas Withering of leaf edges and tips

Potassium Small dead areas appear in older leaves. These can start like little pinpoints and grow. In some species, like Ceratopteris, the older leaves stay green while the little dead spots grow. The new leaves are reduced in size and leaf area, looking a bit 'singed'. In other species the older leaves can turn yellow before they die, but they do not have green persisting along the major veins as in magnesium deficiency.

I'm with Colin on this one..

It would definately have potassium, but that's a "complete" fertilizer you posted. If you are showing a potassium deficiency and you already use a Comprehensive Plant Supplement, I would just add potassium in some shape or form. There are many different ways of adding potassium, but Silly Me can probably explain more on that than I can. I already use Seachem Flourish CPS, but with my tank this Comprehensive supp. didn't have adequate K, so I purchased Seachem's Potassium (liquid) for plants.

ask the chemist for K2SO4 or salpeter ( KNO3 ) you might even get some free but if you have to buy some its very cheap..

potassium does not cause a algae bloom so you could add to much aswell.. But I would add a teaspoon of K2SO4 in 100ml of water and add 5ml of that everyday to your tank till you see a improvement. and then only 10ml once a week

so i got some flourish potassium...

ive used it for almost a week, but im not seeing results...

my ulvaceous grows so fast its not funny, but im constantly trimming leaves because they are destroyed by holes and look weak.

but still the new leaves still are getting holes, and its even when they are forming, before they are decent size that they already have 1 or 2 holes....

could it be something else?

sounds normal..

You will never get the old leaves to improve.. but your new growth should not develop holes.. also the holes in the old leaves might slow down but would not stop.

growing a underwater garden takes time, time, time and some care..
