I have a planted tank and to keep all the plants happy and slappy, I have been dosing w/ Seachem Flourish 2x week and Flourish Excel every other day. Since I started dosing, I can not keep my pH up at the 7.0 level that I previously had the tank leveled out at.

In the tank are Wisteria, Anubias Nana on driftwood, and Crypt Parvas. The substrate is Seachem Flourite Red, these are the only new changes.

Question 1: Am I overdosing?

Question 2: Is the dosing CO2 dropping my pH?

Bump

Been a week, changed the water twice now and still having problems keeping the pH at 7.

Lowered my dosage to 2x week of Excel and 1x week of Flourish.

Was this even a plant/dosage problem or could it be something else?

Any help/advice is highly appreciated.

Thats a tough one, as none of the things you've added lower PH. Any other changes recently, tested your tap water?

Some people have experienced problems with water straight from the tap when the providers add things to water.

As Andy has said, you are not dosing CO2. You are dosing Excel. A carbon supplement. It does not cause pH to change.

Since I started dosing, I can not keep my pH up at the 7.0 level

Does it really matter, in all fairness?
