my plants in my 90L are looking a little yellow and weak, im guessing they need food (i think theyve been fed once in 7 months. i have JBL Ferropol and JBL Ferrotabs. So i was wondering if the Ferropol would be harmful to my shrimp as it contains copper. also it says on the bottle to use alongside a daily fert - Ferropol 24. is this true? my question about the Ferrotabs is should i add these too? where do they go and how many do i add? There are no instructions on the label. Thanks.

i used to have a £10 throw away canister system, you hold it down until it fills the plastic hood but i never saw any benefit (altho they look like they could use it now) thing with co2 is i havnt read much on it i dont really understand it, so i dont want to start messing with it. in both my tanks ive always just bought and planted swords wysteria etc and they have done brilliantly but this last month they look like they are all knackered and pale looking. so should i add both ferts or one or the other? need to up my plant knowledge i think!

if it was me, i would just add the tablets in the normal dose, and use less (but still use a bit) of the one containing the copper. Regarding the tablets, you have to push them down into the substrate near to the roots, it should say how many to put in E.T.C on the packet :good:

nope no instructions... just says 'complete iron and trace fertiliser' ive got three types of plants so i'll put 1 under each type :/ liquid is 10ml for 80L so i'll just put that in. Thanks for help, really am clueless

The products mentioned are just micro nutrients (trace elements). And that's precisely what quantity they are needed in, trace amounts. No point dosing trace elements everyday. Main resources plants need is carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. If the tank has low light levels then you can get away without dosing any of these. The fish should provide enough. Still, no reason to dose trace elements everyday. Maybe once a week, if that.

So am I wrong in dosing tpn every day, I'm sure I've read on here to dose daily along with a daily dose of liquid carbon.
