Plants Near Filter Intake?

Is it ok to have plants around the filter intake?

Don't mean to hi-jack this post but on a similar note how close can you put plants near the heater?

I have just planted an Amazon Sword and some of the leaves are touching/resting on the heater itself.

Ive had some valis near my heater with some parts touching it for a while and all is fine. I beleave some plants like warm roots so maybe it helps im not sure

Ive got Amazon Swords around my intake they catch the plant debris rather than it cloggin up the intake

Yeh should be fine, so long as they dont get sucked into the filter (which more than likely they wont) you should be fine.
