Alright guys so I'm planning to have an aquarium filled with some plants but I don't know which plants to get for it or how to take care of them. Also I have another tank for my turtle and I would like to know how to grow moss for on top of his water.

it depends on your lights ect, good starting plants are anubias, java fern, java moss, crypts, water fern, possibly amazon swords

What type of substrate are you looking at? For most plants you can use plain old gravel if the pebbles aren't too big. Coarse sand works for pretty much for everything, just keep in mind you will need a good depth of it, around 2 inches should be alright. Depending on the plants type, you might need root tabs, liquid fertilizers, or you can dirt the tank which takes away the need for root tabs. I second getting crypts though, they've been awesome for me.

Lighting is key too, so what do you plan on using? If florescent how many watts and what size tank?
