I just got a new Betta in a 5 gallon tank, and was wondering what aquatic plants would be good for it.

If you have a light on the tank then good plants to try include Ambulia, Hygrophila polysperma, narrow Vallis and Water Sprite (Ceratopteris thalictroides).

Water Sprite is a floating plant and the best plant for Bettas. It can also be planted in the substrate. The other plants need to be planted in the substrate.

Thanks for the help! I got water sprite and anubias.

Another nice floating plant is Hornwort. I have it in a couple of my Betta aquariums.
