Hi all

I'm sorry but I am unsure of what my plants are.

Basically the tank is 5 weeks old and whenever i put plants in it (potted or weighted) they seem to start going brown after a few days, and breaking off.

The tank is lit well, so I'm not sure why this keeps happening...

Only 1 or 2 of my plants have survived this long, with 3 already having to be taken out of the tank!

What am I doing wrong??

What am I doing wrong??

Thats the question hey? And has a very very big and broad answer! Can U suggest you read the pinned articles? They'll probably answer most of the questions you have at the moment and throw up a whole load more no doubt!

Im finding the stickies quite helpful but could do with some hands on advice!

Plus as I dont know what my plants are, its a bit confusing!

Do you know what your WPG (or watt per gallon) is in your tank?

If i would I would:
1- I.D. your plants
2- Figure out your WPG
3- Check for compatability

I am still working on my planted tank and have found mainly through trial and error that there are a few plants who can not grow at my very low WPG levels

mm.. probably lacking Iron and Light..

EX. my plants where not doing well for me as well and I had 1 WPg and little fert adding.. then I added more light and got it to 2.2 WPg and now everythign is growing fine.. i am also adding ferts the proper ammount, and way.
