Planting Wile Tank Cycling

Hey guys

I am gettin a 75 gallon and want to make it planted and it will be my first planted tank and i wanted to know if i can start growing the plants as my tank is cycling?

HEY another question i had was i can never find BIG fake plants that cover a larger area (if ya know what i meen) and i was wonderin since they are easyer to take care of has anymore ever made their own fake plants?

Like go to a craft store and pick up different fake plants and cute off the leaves and stems to make ur own plants and then mount them on a base....do ya think that would work ?

you can plant plants right away however you might not notice when the tank cycles. all readings (nitrite,nitrate,ammonia) may sit at zero. growth will be slow but they should be fine.



as far as making your own plants, not all plant materials might be suited to being submerged in water constantly. i think most plastics would be water safe (and therefore cleanable) but perhaps not materials like silk or polyester although i cant say for sure
