sounds good thank you. so since these need to be planted, I shouldn't try to attach any of them to my rock correct?
The java Fern will be good to attach though right?

any other plants you would recommend for my new tank? Both that are good for attaching to hardscape and ones that need to be planted?

Java Ferns need to be attached to wood/rock/decor, so the rhizome is not buried. Crypts are planted in the substrate and left alone. Other plants to consider are the pygmy chain swords (Helanthium tenellum or H. bolivianum), I have always found these easy to grow.
 
Other plants for attaching to decor include anubias, several species some of which are tiny while others grow quite big; bolbitis; bucephalandra; mosses.
