Has anyone had any dealings with these guys ?

I had an order for some substrate and a few plants, unfortunatly the order got held at customs and its all arrived dead and damaged,

( all plants dead already and the subsrate was ripped open and all i got was a cardboard box of polystyrine and substrate so none of it is usable).

I was ok with this and e-mailed them to alert them of the damage as they asked me too do if i discovered it was damaged on arrival, however after two e-mails ive had no reply at all.

the order was not expensive but just wondering if its worth the effort to chase it with them and if anyone else had had any issues.

on a positive note my order from charterhouse aquatics for my ehiem 2213+ filter arrived and wow i love it.

In my experience, Tony is excellent. The plants I've ordered from there have always arrived as they were predicted and in good condition, and any time I've contacted him with a query it's been answered very promptly.

I think it's always worth chasing them about it, if there has been no email contact then a phone call is definitely worthwhile to give the opportunity for them to put it right. While they should always be expected to put it right, I would always suggest being polite about it... not suggesting you wouldn't be but some people go about it in the wrong way, which is not conducive to a positive outcome.

Make sure to take some pictures and offer to email them over as proof of the damage, if you haven't already. They might not ask, but offering suggests you are being sincere rather than trying to get something for nothing. (Again, not meaning any offence by that, but you know there are people out there who are like that!)

Yer the e-mail was polite and im not really after a replacments or refund as such, but wanted the acknowledgement before i got anything else through them.

I do that sort of thing all the time, then my mates say that such and such site you recommended was useless or dont exist. doh!
