I'd like to set up a small, nano-style planted tank for my desk / office room in my apartment. Nothing really fancy, just some java moss and maybe a couple small leafy plants, anubias or something.

Because it will be at my desk, where space is a bit at a premium, I was looking at some of the 'kit' style aquariums, where the light and filter are built in, such as:

MarineLand Eclipse 5 Gal
Aqueon Mini Bow Desktop

Anyone have any experiences with these or similar style tanks? Anything to recommend / avoid?

There's someone in the planted journals section who's done lots and lots of beautiful little planted nanos, in case you've not run across these pictures. They might be helpful for ideas. I'm partial to those beautiful glass cubes you can get from ADA, or that you can try to mimick, but of course that might be getting in to more expense. WD

I love those little planted cubes from ADA as well, however I don't like the £500-£1300 price tag! These some decent little nanos in the planted journal section at the moment.
