Ok, so I've been trying to identify this lily... It has a big bulb, but I don't think it's a rhizome. It is red, but it does have a slight green tinge sometimes.
Here's a pic.
Thanks!
Robin

It's some kind of nymphaea species. Probably a red tiger lotus. They're beautiful plants that send up lily pads and flowers. They require a rich susbstrate or root tabs to do their best.

I agree. The Red Tiger lotus is a gorgeous plant and a wonderful centerpiece for the tank. It is also known as Nymphaea lotus (zenkeri). I've seen it in both red and green versions. :)

Hmmm.... That gives me a thought. I have a big empty space in the middle of my tank, maybe I could put it there and when it gets bigger, I could put anubias under it. I don't think it's getting enough space and light right now. What do you guys think?
