Plant identification please

Hi Guys I'm planning to setup a planted tank and I visited a local store and found these plants and the shop keeper has tied them to rock found it interesting so bought them I would to know the plant name
Any help will be appreciated

Is the plant in a plastic bag?
if yes, take it out and plant it so we can see it properly. It will make it easier to id

Looks more like a type of macro algae but the name escapes me. It is usually used as a food for shrimp and other vegetarian fish or so I've read.
