I bought some more anubias the other day and the root system was quite long and thick so trimmed some thick parts off so I could attach it easier to my mopani in my low tech 330 litre tank, will this root eventually grow a new plant or not if I was to add it to my tank?

There is no reason why the "offcut" will not develop as a separate plant.
I would not bury it in the substrate, just in case it rots - but would suggest that you tie it to a piece of bogwood or slate using cotton, where it will develop.
Anubias are a very hardy plant, the root stock is probably just a hardy too.

I thought so, got it in my plant grow out tank, things justboom in there , will update onthe progress

depends if its just the roots you trimmed off or part of the rhizome if its part of the rhizome then it should grow if its just root then no it wont
