Plant for identification

Anyone know the name of this plant? I saw it in a bag at a mom&pops lfs about 2 months ago, and I really liked the deep purple stems, so I bought them. It has thrived in my goldfish tank without a substrate--the stems were "plugged" into a hole in a piece of wood.

Leaves are 3.5" long, 1" wide. About 5 1/2-6" from root to leaf tips.

Thanks for the replies. Got the plant out of the tank and into a pot! I bookmarked the link for future reference.

I do remember telling them at the checkout that I was buying plants for my aquarium. My bad for not asking specifically if these were aquatic plants.
Gotta hand it to this plant, though, survived all 2+ months underwater.
