red root floater in high light

Are those good placemrents for my new plants?
If not, where should I pu them? Flow, light, root tabs?
Ill add root tabs for the crypts, but idk about the pinkish stem plant

To be honest, I can't really get a sense of the whole tank from the shots you've presented.
One concern that leaps out at me would be those large pebbles and the deep, inaccessible gaps between them. They look like they'd be great for hiding waste food and dead fish.

The actual arrangement of plants looks a bit random. In gardening, one of the more common tips is to think in groups of three and to keep similar plants together, rather than have them all spread out, mixing in with each other.
Another tip would be to keep your tallest to the back and shortest at the front and then work from there, perhaps with a specimen plant, such as a Sword, standing out. This should never be dead centre, as that looks too 'staged', so slightly off-centre is a good tip.

But I thought some species such as cichlids needed lots of secret hiding places?

thanks, the little fish actually go through the spaces
also the back is completely unusable because of the flow.
i know it looks ugly, i just want the plants to survive!

First picture looks OK. 2nd picture: Those plants in the foreground aren't crypts. I do see some (wendtii?) in the background of the first picture. 3rd picture: What "thingy" are you referring to?

I agree that a full-tank shot or two would really help give us a feel for the overall look.

Without full shot can’t tell…as for the last one kinda looks like might be some rupen family is my beat guess…can’t think of exact name atm…is the triangle corner the spot light shine down opening for it? Has it been growing there or you just got it ?

In general, that family has a lot of easy red plants but it still needs light. I can’t stop eyeballing those duckweed interference soon tho sorry lol your plant is slight pink so I think overall you need more lighting to bring out the color so maybe the spot it’s in is not enough light if it has been growing in that spot. No root tab required for this one. I’m sure it won’t object to root tabs lol but I find it’s a water column feeder.

But looks like the rest is low light so placement gets tricky. I see why you post 👍🏻

your red roots will grow in low or high lighting..low lighting tends to yield greener..the good enough amount will show how red it can grow;) ..red roots do better with barely any flow to disturb it. Tends to be hard on the rest of the tank for flow depending on what you’re working with..

I’m not sure but your leaves may look a lil curled?? ..red roots also look bunch up..better to spread them out a bit so it can have baby sprouts easier, directly under light will not burn it, I find it’s best to line it up directly under the light as close as possible and hog the light

hope that helps
