would 4 pictus cats be good tankmates with a jewel cichlid and a pike cichlid in a 55 gallon? I am not sure which pike cichlid it is exactly other than it is not a dwarf. There is also a 10 inch pleco in the tank now. All the rest will be juvi's at around 3". I'm concerned the cats wouldn't be able to defend themselves when the pike gets bigger. Plans are to get a new tank before the pike gets oversized but as you know, plans dont always work right away. Thank you for your help.

best to ask CFC or someone about this. if a Pike cichlid can (Attempt to) swallow a 6 inch pictus i would say no because if it did you would lose both fish. but if a Pike cihclid has a really slow growth rate you might be ok if u can get another tank

Thank you. I have found the scientific name which is Crenicichla Sp. Belly Crawler. Which only gets 6" I read. Any more comments on this page? Thank you if you do.

sounds ok then. as long as youre certain of the ID and that it will only grow to 6 inches they should be fine together. my pictus's pretty much ignore everything else in the tank
