thinking about getting some freshwater clams, but im wondering if my cories will eat them. any thoughts?

I don't think clams are a great idea. They need realy dirty water and will likely die within a few weeks if you don't feed them invert food by hand which can be time consuming. When they die, you cant tell, and they'll rot and damage the water quality. There are very little success storys with them and i personally would'nt ever keep them again :good:

why do they die so easy? im going to keep them in a female betta sorority so the water wont be moving around that much, so theoreticly it should be easier for them to feed. i would figure a clam to be pretty hardy and not requier a ton of food though...how finiky are they?

Very, very finicky. They don't need still water; they need a massive flow of water full of microorganisms. They just can't survive in tank, or ponds. They need rivers.

They die so easily because they need high levels of food, which they simply can't get in an aquarium, so they starve and die :good:

interesting, well in that case do you think that the cories will eat ghost shrimp? i have had bamboo shrimp befor and i like those alot but they need a bit of a bigger tank than a 10 gallon.
