Pearl Gourami's Are Fighting?

My male Pearl is chasing my female Pearl around quite eratically. They have never been like this before. They were really calm. I noticed it just now.
They wouldn't be breeding shortly would they?

And the males tail fin looks like it is frayed a little bit. What could that be?

I have a Rekord 96litre.

2 Pearls
4 Neon Tetras
3 Lemon Tetras
3 GloLite Tetras

Gourami's will fight each other, has the male built a bubble nest? When I had gouramis the male would go through episodes of chasing the female around the tank, she just generally stayed out of his way, she had plenty of space and hiding places.

I wouldn't worry, just keep an eye on them, make sure the female has somewhere to hide and preferably your tank should be well planted to allow her to escape his 'attacks'.

Your males tail is probably frayed form the female fighting back, stick some melafix in the tank to aid healing and keep and eye on that too.
