Pearl Gourami Chasing Tail Like Dog

My female pearl gourami recently died last night after what looked like she was having a fit

She seemed to twirl round as if she couldnt swim straight, loop de looping in the tank

it was obvious that she couldnt get to the top for air so i raised her up to the surface so she could breathe

it was all in vain though as she died after 5mins

does anyone know what could have caused this? no visible signs of anything??!?!

she was getting bullied a little of the male but that was about it, they still swam everywhere together

ive had her for over 2 years

Swimming fast in circles can be the fish is dying, bacterial, external parasites, internal parasites.
Was the fish flicking and rubbing, darting around the tank.
Did the fish look bloated or thin.
What did it look like when the fish went to the toilet.

fellow male gourami

no signs of anything, no unusual behaviour, not sure on the toilet scene! fish wasnt bloated
