parot chiclid

so i recently found parot chiclids a my LFS and i was wondering, the guy at the store said you can train the parot chiclid? Does anyone know anything about this, also what kind of environment do they need to be happy

Never heard of them being trained, i know there pretty smart and can also see what food it being fed to them outside the tank but i think thats like most cichlids.

train it for what! it can be trained to eat from your hands, thats prety simple tho

i dont rteally know what treainin entails but at the store he would play with it, it let him put his hand in the water and the fish would swim in his hand and he would slowly take the fish out of water and play with it, then he would put it back in the water and the fish would nibble on his hand until he got a pellet of food. And he also could make this thing jump on command

my parrots react differently to different food packets but other than that there pretty thick so far as i can tell, much to my amusement
