I started with 6 oscars, waiting for them to pair off. I have taken 2 out so far, and I'm ready to take out one more, they keep on the other side of the tank, so I know he is not going to pair up.
The other three are confusing me. All three of them hang out together....and they keep on switching who they hang out with the most. they seem to go through phases....sometimes hanging out with one buddy, then shonning that one then hanging out with the other buddy.
They are between 5 - 7 inches long, and they have been working the slate and gravel hard for about 1 and a half monthes. When they do this their head keeps doing a flicking motion. They also are also always doing the "slapping the other one in the face" thing with their tails. This always happens between those three.....does that mean that there would be a male and 2 females? is this why they are not spawning?
I hope to figure this out, I'm waiting to move another so they are not cramped for space, as they are in a 110 gallon tank right now. Even though there is that many in the tank, there has not been any real bad quarrels for territory, they seem to get along just fine.
Does anyone have any ideas?
