that’s just insulting....

pastrami is usually made with beef brisket, whole cut of beef, cured in a brined, seasoned well and hot smoked until tender & juicy, and gently pulling apart.
So it is made from horse ;)

You do realise horse and cow tastes the same. What do you think happens to all the old race horses that can't run anymore. mmm tasty burgers and brisket :)

And all you people that think you're buying chicken chow mien from the local Chinese takeaway store, have you seen any cats in the area lately?

No! It’s made from cow. And her name was Betsy, and she was a fine cow until she stopped producing milk...

We all know horses get turned into glue when they can’t race anymore...

They don't turn horses into glue anymore. They stopped when primary school kids were eating the glue.

Mmm Betsy, she even sounds tasty :)

Anywho, this is what I had in mind at the time, so you are right @Naterjm , I kind of misled the post a bit ;)

There was a horse meat scandal in the UK a few years ago. Certain frozen food manufacturers went out of business because of it. It was found in things like lasagne and spaghetti bolognese. The products ingredients listed beef mince but did not mention horse meat. Analysis proved they contained horse meat. There was uproar as horse meat is not sold in the UK for human consumption - for some reason people won't eat it if they know that's what it is.
On the continent horse meat is sold as such and is perfectly acceptable. My husband ate it many times on business trips and enjoyed it.
