Hi everyone, I have a 20 gallon tank. I currently have it stocked with 3 male guppies, 3 male endlers, a handful of ghost shrimp, 30 or so malaysian trumpet snails, and 3 mystery snails. I would like to add a gourami of some sort and a school of Juli Cory. Is this feasible? What exactly do I have room for? I have several live plants if that matters and I have an AquaTech 30-60 gallon filter. Thanks everyone!

That's the question he emailed me and I'd appreciate all feedback you guys can give me so I can give it to him.

He could probably cut back on some of the snails. More inhabitants means more waste so the lesser the better :D

The recommendations from that site are highly suspect, and it's really not one that we recommend folks here use as a guide to direct stocking.

oh i see....Was the advice I was given wrong? Do you have any input as to what could go in the tank?

I didn't say the site was to be used directly, but i do think it is a good way to get a feel for approximately how many fish can go into your tank.

I didn't even both to click the link. Waste of time, IMHO.

A shoal of smaller cories, like trillineatus (often sold as julii) will be fine with 3 guppies and 3 endlers.

All those fish, inverts will get along fine. The MTS can get out of hand if you over feed, so watch out for that.

Most of us here have seen some absolutely shockingly bad stocking scenarios coming up as being perfectly fine on that site. It's usage is dubious, at best, and at worst could lead to potential disasters, which is why we don't allow linking to it.

I understand where stocking could go bad with the use of this site. I find it useful, with the aid of additional research about the fish i plan to stock and their compatibility and tank requirements, but i do agree that the site can be harmful to beginners and that it shouldn't be solely relied upon. Sorry for the bad advice!

alright thanks, would it be too much to add a variety of dwarf gourami as well?

Yes, should be fine.
