I bought this fish at the pet store they didn't know the name they say it eats algae. I normally get a run of the mill Oto, but they didn't have any, they said it's similar. It does seem to sucking to the glass  and decor eating away. Can anyone identify this fish by the picture. I would like to know the name! Thank you all!

i think it could be a flying fox, check on google to see if it look like him.

Thank you all for your help. Yes it did turn out to be a Flying Fox, and definitely not the fish I wanted, it's going to grow too big and need a larger tank than what I will have.

It's a Siamese Algae Eater

Flying Fox have a gold line above the black line. Siamese Algae Eaters and False Flying Fox look very similar but the Siamese Algae Eater has a more jagged edge to it's black line and is a slightly different shape. Does it have barbels? If so, 2 or 4?

This should help :)

Yes- that propping up on the fins what resting is great way to spot true SAE.I  have them.

I have had the false ones too. Hardest dang fish to net in a well planted tank I ever had. When smaller they are difficult to distinguish from the others and can be easily mixed in at exporters and sellers. I bought 5 SAE and was sent 5 false sae instead. The last one took me almost 2 years to catch.
