What are your thoughts with regards to feeding Oscars pond food? I've been feeding my Oscar on a diet mostly consisting of pond food for over 2 years now. No problems at all and his colouration is perfect.

I've heard many horror stories regarding pond food and Cichlids, many of which were told by those in the fish business. (unsurprisingly) I tend to take what they say with a pinch of salt because I know that where possible, they will want to maximise sales. Fact is, if we're all feeding our Oscars with with pond food, they're going to make less than half the amount of potential profit on us. They'd much rather sell us Cichlid sticks, I'm sure.

I don't feed my fish with a specific Koi formula though, I tend to go after the ones specifically designed for a variety of pond fish. I figure that this is a safer bet, and it appears that it is doing a fine job.

Here is what my Oscar has been on for quite awhile now:

I also feed him prawns from time to time but his main diet is as above.

What are your thoughts?

If there ok, then should be ok, hows there pysical looks?
i would reccomend trying them on floating hiraki pellets aswell and get another pellet type. maybe too late already, but getting oscars onto multiple food choice will help alot, they sometimes suddenly decide to stop eating a brand of food, you have a fall back
