Orange Chromides Loves Baby Marrow!

Whenever I chuck in some baby marrow for the Pleco in my community tank.... The first ones at it will be my Orange Chromides..... They love it!!

What I do like about the marrows is that they are sliced and pre-cooked, and they sink...... no need to weigh them down.

That's a definte plus, although slightly comical...it's not nice for the poor fish to have to chase a piece of cucumber as it shoots around on the surface with the flow from the filter

What are Chromides like to keep? they look like little orange Convicts, I heard they are brakish, but can they stay in fresh? i only saw them on sale once and they was in a Brackish setup with Monos and stuff so I didnt get them, I think they would look nice in a midsized CA community tho.

They are fantastic cichlids and one of my all time favourite fish.... they are peaceful and does best in brackish water but not restricted to it.... I have bred them succesfully in fresh water and they were happy in all sorts of communities ranging from neon tetras to Discus.....

They look really nice, What Cichlids would they mix with? are they tough enough to go in with Firemouth or Cryptoheros types?

They will go with Firemouths, provided that they are introduced into the tank long before the FM's are added..... They have a rather timid disposition, but once they are confident..... they will be fine with those..... Cryptoheros???... I have no experience with, so I cannot tell.
