Hi people can i have you opinions on nd aquatic tanks please vs Jewel vision 450

Regards Aqua monster

i almost bought a juwel tank , but then i found nd aquatics , and imo the quality of the nd tank blows the juwel out of the water. , 1 drawback tho is you will have to buy seperate lights heaters filters etc ( unless you already have these of course)

I brought a Juwel vision 450 about 2 months ago. Its my third tank and my third Juwel tank, In my humble experience Juwel's are built well and look fantastic. Sure the cabinets are nothing special to look at and I have always preferred to replace the flimsy plastic hollow feet for solid wood one's but then again you do not have to bye the cabinet.

I have always had the dark wood trim of the three options.

I really do like the bowed front I think it is fantastic :good: of course its a personal thing its a bit like Marmite you either love it or hate it, some say they are hard to clean I do not see the problem I will agree it makes taking pictures of your fish complex but hey I love a challenge .

On my first two (Trigon's) I kept the notorious black internal filter box in augmenting with a fluval 405 but on my Vision I took it out and I am glad I did I think it looks better without it in, again its another Marmite moment.

Never had an ND tank, but I have read a lot about them and all good :good: , tell you the truth one day when I have the space I am tempted to go for one of there tanks its a shame Juwel do not do a 6 or 7 ft bow front tank

I am leaning towards the juwel bow fronted 450 in dark wood as i do like the bow fronted tank..just a shame they dont do a better filter with it...

I would recommend you take the internal black box out gives you a bit more room and it looks so much better IMHO.

Then put in a couple of external canister filters :good:

Are you sure you want a bowed front tank, I've always found those, and especially bowed corner tanks, to really distort the view and give a strange depth to things...

Have you seen one with fish in it and liked it? If so then great go for it, otherwise I would just check out one in use first...I didn't like them but that could just be me

If you do decide to remove the internal filter (definitely recommended) bear that in mind on cost, you'll need to spend money on external filters too so that bumps the price up further, I would seriously consider a ND or Seabray tank...when all said and done you have choice as to what you are using for lighting, heating and filtration...and yes it might cost more (versus the standard all in setup of a Juwel) but it will be better quality.

I am running a Seabray Dolphin 5ft tank with 2 x ex1200 external filters, 2 x Hydor Eth external heaters and 2 x 4ft 54W t5 tubes with a Hagen twin ballast...I love it! Details can be found in my journal link below
