Ok so i have been running a co2 fe for months and i have gone through new fe's like a hot knife thrugh butter.

I have checked for leaks god knows how many times but never find a leak.

My latest FE has been running eight days and i have already noticed a driop in pressure from 50psi to 40 so its running out already !

Again lst night i checked for leaks but could find nothing.

Is there a safe way submerge an FE to check for leaks around the reg at all ?

If i cannot get this sorted i feel i will be giving up and ripping out the plants as its getting a little costly.

Just send me the plants. :D

I was under the impression that a fe lasted ages?

At work if i am checking things for leaks i use water with washing up liquid in it,i have it in a spray bottle and just spray all joints and pipes,If you see bubbles, its leaking.

I have had my 2KG FE on an 180 litre tank and its lasted over three months so far (but depends what size fish tank size your running), so it seems like you are having a problem (maybe). I did what the above person said and used water with washing up liquid to check for leaks around the Regulator/FE connection

doh, just noticed you got a 240 litre in your sig. would reckon you would have a longer running time on a 2kg FE than you are getting. are you using good co2 tubing? as some tubing can leak co2, so I have read.

240 tank 3ps inline diffuser.

Co2 tubing from aquaesentials.

Just dismantled the setup to check for leaks again !

definitely, the last one 2kg = 4.9kg in weight.

No leaks on the reg/solenoid/needle valve/return valve/bubble counter.

I checked the inline last night and it was fine.

I give up.

Right i have setup the co2 again after the checks and rechecked after setup. NO LEAKS that i can find. Soooo frustrating.

Ok i have rechecked for leaks on the inline diffuser & bubble counter using a bucket see video below.

Nothing was found.

I am totally baffled and fed up with this.

FE is now at 25psi on the main reg so i am going to have to change this after today more than likely.

Any help would be great. As i say i cannot find any leaks on the reg connections either.

where is the reg from?

and were the other FE's deffo empty ?

The reg is the ones from the german seller on ebay.

The other were near enough empty yeh i would squeeze on the handles and a short burst like a second then stop.

PSI is now 10 from 25 so i am going to have to replace it again, eight days !

I'd have to blame the reg, LP. It there anyway of droping into you local FE center and asking whether they would have a look at you reg. Don't go spending on another reg until then.

Ill give them a call ask

Is there a safe way to submerg the fe to check?

I personally wouldn't, due to the fact of the reg. We know the Fe was full, with the weight.

Yeh not a wise idea so i wont.

Trying to find someone to test it at the moment.

I hear no hissing from the reg at all so its strange.
