Oh No! 1 Of My New Cacatuiodes Is Dying

i picked up 3 cockatoo apistos satdi and i just thought the one was particulary shy hiding away but this mornin shes at the bottom of the tank takin her last breathes. The lfs have had them at least a week, i did a 50/ water change friday put a tonic in sundi and checked the parameters which were gud. I hope its a one off

What exactly was the tonic and what are the water parameters?

it was a tetra general tonic, ammonia yellow and from memory no3 was 10 i think but my diary is home. There was nothin there to concern me iykwim im goin home at lunch and will do another set of tests before i do a water change, will try and get as much out as i can in my hour as i will need to get the body out unless theres bin a miracle - i will a get a pic, c if u can spot anything x

fish not quiet dead yet. . . Eyes seemed red and puffy, gaspin 4 breathe. Kinda makin an effort to swim flippin about head straight up tho! Managed 40/ change no ammonia no3 between 10 n 25, no 2 0, ph 7.5. Kh 3, gh 16 temp 26

I'd take one back with a sample of your tank water and ask for credit...sounds like you were sold a very poor fish to me, how along ago did you get them? Hope they are disease free?

Yes me too, I only got them Saturday. The other three seem fine (at the moment) but they've always been quite confident in the tank coming up to front to look at me staring at them - all but this poorly one anyway.

rang the lfs i bought them from and he said hes got the same problem - bacterial infection. There gonna open late 4 me so i can pick up a treatment for it . . . !

I hope it recovers, in case you want a recommendation, I prefer to use eSHa 2000..

poor thing didnt last the day. One of the platys is lyin at the bottom now, no other signs. Tank treated, its all gone green . . . my beautiful tank
