Is anyone using these?

I am planning my SH tank and am looking for a good way to keep on top of the inevitable phosphates and nitrates from feeding.

Cheers.

Nick.

Morri and Ren are going to be using them soon :good:

Been doing some reading on the big US forum and it seems that rice could be a way to go.

From what i have read (25 pages ) it seems it does the same job as biopellets.

I little more reading is needed.

that rice could be a way to go.

Whats the basic thinking then Nick?

It's bacically just replacing the biopellets with rice, the rice supply a carbon source for the bacteria to feed on, the bacteria then use up nitrate and phosphate.

From what i have read on it so far it seems to work very well, but is still very much experimental.

Only found the thread by chance, it was nominated for thread of the month, are links aloud?

How you getting on with these m8t? Did you decide to use them in the end?
I have just ordered mine today :good: but to be honest I don’t think I will start it off till next month when I get back from my jolly’s  , as I am waiting for bespoke reactor that a guy over on UR is making for me  . But any info you can give me in the mean time would be appreciated
thanks john,o
