I know I need to post pictures of my new cacatuoides but they aren't staying still, long enough :(

I've noticed, that since yesterday with Bruce, that he has this blue shimmering sparkle along the frnt half of his scales. Not everywhere but it's noticable and very pretty. He doesn't seemed bothered by the other male, whether that is because the male is small, not sure.

Bruce seems happier, he has 1 of the new females constantly at his side, the other 2 females seemed to have paired off with the new guy.

Is that blue.silvery shimmer a normal thing with cacatuoides then? I would say he's at 2" in size now, is htat fully grown?

Yeah - my male cacatuoides has irridescent blue along his flanks,
and also around the face.

This has come more pronounced as he grows out - his colours as a double red are
absolutely stunning.

The female is much smaller but has also developed orange and red flashes on her fins,
but not the irridescent blue yet.

Oh - and forgot to add ...

I reckon the male is nearer 3 inches in length,
he really has grown in the last 4 - 6 weeks.
Must be fully grown by now.

ah ok, thanks for that. So he has about another inche to grow? He was very colorful to begin with but since the new male and females have gone in, he's colored up alot more and got this shimmer scale, very pretty indeed.

Good to hear from another owner lol

sounds like they are nicely settled and happy in their home :good:

thanks, i think they are. As soon as you approach the tank, all 5 apistos are up against the side to greet you. kinda cute :p
