I recently had a 10 gallon tank given to me. I have all the basics including a heater, filter, and light. I already have an established 29 gallon tank, but have never kept live plants. I've decided that if its possible I'd like to try keeping live plants in my new tank along with a few small fish. I've read through a lot of the info on this forum, but I feel like its just been an overload. I was really hoping someone could help and give me some info, in laymans terms(a lot of this makes my head spin!). I would like to start with something inexpensive and without a lot of maintenance(I do understand that there will be some maintenance involved). I believe the light is only 50 watts is this going to work? I'll be starting off with brand new substrate. Whats the best to get for plants? or does it even matter? I know this may cause some repeat info that has probably been explained hundreds of times, and I apologize, but I'm really a step by step type of person. I'd appreciate any advice at all, I've learned a lot from these forums, and I'm really excited about learning this new aspect of fish keeping!
