Nodding Danio

one of my Danios has taken to 'nodding' it chooses an are of the tank and bobs its head up and down. Why is it doing this, has it gone mad?

Does it have any symptoms that could lead you to believe its not well.

I know that when some animals are kept in captivity with a lack of stimulus the result to some sort of repetitive behaviour, be it pacing at the front of a cage, or bobbing up and down on perches.
Not too sure if this has been seen in fish before though

How many danios do you have?

Unfortunately only two. This behavior is coupled with agression towards others. I am thinking of returning them both to the LFS but am sad due to the fact I've had them both for such a long time. I never intentionally bought just two I was given the stock as a present when my rainbow crab died. Sould I return them or persevere? Failing that I'm in Surrey too and if you want to pick em up you can do!

How many gallons/litres is your tank? Danios are schooling fish and like to be in groups of at least 5-6, when kept in too smaller numbers they can display odd behavior and become agressive or constantly stressed- if your tank has the space, i would get the danio some more of its own species, if not, then i would rehome it.
