May day may day!!

We fishless cycled our 21gal tank, using flake food....

all went well, and took about three weeks...

on your guys advice we did about a 70% water change BEFORE adding fish....

we initially stock with four cory julii, one died, but nothing to do with the water, it was just a weakling....

we then added two days later four balloon molly and two dwarf neon gourami....

then five days after that, three bronze cory...

we were anticipating doing a weekly or fortnightly water change....

tested the water this evening, and according to the API test kit we have zero ammonia (good!) zero nitrIte (good!)....but worryinglywe also have virtually zero nitrAte.....

we have ONE tall grass like LIVE plant, and a diminishing floating "weed" for the gourami...

whats going on?????

HELP!!!!

:dunno: :S

Don't panic it's ok what is your tap reading in nitrate, and live plants help to keep nitrate down.

That's great nothing to worry about at all, good luck with your new tank.

Yes, unless you're going to heavily plant your tank, you want as little Nitrate in the water as possible.
