AT last! my Nitrite level is down to 0.1mg/l t's almost clear, I have been doing a 15% water change evey 2 days this week. At the begging of the week it was 2.5mg/l a very dark purple colour. Ph is 7.5 mg/l & Ammonia is 0.0 mg/l.

1.) Right how often & how much should I now keep adding the filter start (bacteria)?
2.) How often & how much should I change the water?
3.) What small fish is good for gravel bed cleaning?

Thanks inadvance for your help

Andy

How big is the tank you have? It sounds to me like this is a new tank. Am I correct? If so, you can discontinue use of the bacteria starter. It works without adding it daily. Once your tank is established, a 30% water chage should be done at least once a month. This depends on the type of filtration you have though. If you have the bare minimum filter (ie. undergravel), you will have to make water changes more often. A small fish that is good for gravel bed cleaning is the cory catfish. Also, it is nice to have a pleco or a couple of otocincluses to clean up the algae.

Why did you start an entirely new thread to repeat a question you already asked in your old one? Just be patient, it will be answered in time. There are many people on this thread who want to help, but flooding (although this is to a very minimal extent) the forum with double-threads doesn't make it any easier. We'll help you, but you've got to make it easy for us.

I can only apologies as my IE crashed at the time all hell broke loose, I never have double posted before, I run my own forums on my servers and understand.
