Hello, I need to get my nitrite down very quickly, it is very high! I have done a water change but it hasn’t made a difference, any ideas?

Do a 95% water change if the smaller ones didnt work

Agree, but we also need some data. Are fish present, or is this in cycling?

Has been set up about a month, added tetra safe start bacteria, 15l 4guppies temporarily.
Temp is 26 ammonia 0 and ph about 7-8

just do a 75-80% water change and gravel clean the substrate every day until the level is 0ppm.
make sure any new water is free of chlorine/ chloramine before it's added to the tank.

Be careful not to replace too much water at once or you will cause an added nitrogen cycle and kill off all your good bacteria

Changing water is fine ;) the bacteria live on the surfaces, not in the actual water

The debris in the substrate is fish poo and uneaten food. It needs to be siphoned out. Removing it will not harm the cycle.
