I currently have a heavily planted 20 gallon tank with nitrate levels at ~80ppm. I use EI dosing and do about a 50% water change weekly. This level of nitrate is right before water weekly water change. Will this hurt my fish? I have not seen any signs of stress and everyone is healthy.

Thanks

If everything seems fine it probably is. I'll leave the don't trust test kits arguement for now.
There could be a shout for lowering your KNO3 dose tho to save some extra cash.... :good:

There has been reports of levels upto and beyond 300ppm not affecting fish, if yours seem healthy as Firearms has mentioned, there really shouldn't be anything to worry about :good:

Nitrate is incredibly difficult to measure accurately. The liquid test kits we have available to us as hobbyists are dreadful. They are better off in the bin. The chances of it being 80ppm is very far off.
