Nicrew ClassicLED vs ClassicLED planted plus

I have a fluval flex 15 and I want to grow dwarf hairgrass, Monte Carlo, and s repens. I’ve heard the stock light isn’t strong enough. I would move the stock light to the back a bit and Velcro a 12’ nicrew light. Has anyone done a mod like this on the fluval flex? What are y’all’s experience with the regular ClassicLED vs the planted one?

Have you tried with the stock light? I have dimmed the light in my Flex 15 to around 60% of full power as it is too bright for my fish and caused algae otherwise. I also have floating plants which dims it further.
