hi just a few snaps from my trip.

In the last few weeks the water falling of this has been a nice ash grey :hyper:

A truly amazing country and really well worth a visit. The natural geography of the place is simply stunning. these were only a few shots. i havent even begun on the geo-thermal stuff!

thanks for Looking.

Wow, just wow...amazing landscapes!

Has that stepped weir thing got anything to do with fish?

love the second to last photo.

It's either fish, or as another controlled outlet for water to weaken the fall, maybe to preserve the life of it before it erodes too much.

Plus it would have the bonus of being able to drive turbines for power.

If it's bigger than it looks, it could be for boats to get up...

Hey, not fair, you've had three guesses

It's got to be one of those, I hedging bets on easing fish migration...even though it might be a big structure it still doesn't have anywhere near the flow rate of the waterfall and wouldn't therefore affect the flow much at all....at a guess

cheers guys. yep its for the fish to get up the river as they can jump the waterfalls. icelandic people think of everything!!!

the last pic was taken when whale watching. saw loads of dolphins and some beluga's. we were the only trip that week not to see a killer whale. sahem but thats life!
