You don't see much of aquatic plants even where the small fish are. I guess the food is living in the gravel,clumps of algae.

Absolutely stunning! Especially for wild freshwater fish... See mass fish farms! You can have beautiful fish without choice breeding... Nature can provide amazing colors without human intervention!
