Hi everyone.

A little intro , my name is dean and live in the uk. Been keeping fish for around 13 years or so. In and out the hobby tho. The last 6 years I have been more serious about fish, especially last year to the point I ordered a new tank .

Tank history is I had the tanks that hang on the wall . Was very small but was ok to start . I built this into the wall and it hung on a tv bracket so I could pull out and do all the maintenance. I then decided to step up . So had a custom 380 litre tank made to go into the wall like the other one but this one was a fixed item so made panel that could come off for maintenance. The new tank which I will be receiving Wednesday next week is a massive jump up to 1400 litre tank which will be built again into the wall. But this tank I a massive project not just the tank but everything to run it. Here are some pictures..

Quite a lot of pictures . First 3 are the tank that was before this new one. Pics are from the filter room which I have done a lot of work too . The other ones are striping it all back ready to do the new floor for it to go on. Other pics are of the back ground made and the new tank

Wow, I donā€™t recall seeing something like this before. I hope your fish do well in that kind of location. I havenā€™t had a TV in over 20 years myself but I know some people do like listening to their TVs at a loud ā€œtheater-likeā€ volume. Some movies with explosions and crashes can certainly make sounds to disturb the peace. I wonder how your poor fish will do so close to such sounds as fish can become stressed.

I have several aquariums but only 1 in my basement as that is where we practice music, thankfully the drummer is rarely in our basement. I am always concerned about how much noise my poor fish contend with and I do try to keep their surroundings peaceful and quiet. My other aquarium is in the library, nice and quiet unless a playful dog runs barking through the house or tries to engage the other dogs in play starting in the library. My other tank quietly sits where I like to have my coffee in the morning.

I would love a huge aquarium built into a wall one day.

Your set up is surely nice, and I hope it is practical for your fishes good health and longevity.

Tbh we watch fish tv. Tv is rarely on . Music sometimes but never to loud. Over the years the fish have always seemed good to be fair.

I appreciate the stress factor which is why itā€™s never too loudā€¦ also neighboursā€¦ haha.

I always wanted a big fish tank but I never wanted one just sat there if that makes sense. I wanted something different and intergrated into the room.

I have gone all out on this build for sure and done everything to make maintenance easy as will all basically will be automated etc.

Me and my wife love to sit on the floor with a glass of wine and watch themā€¦. With the new tank we could have a bath with themā€¦. Haha.

See I would like multiple tanks like you have which I will . My 400 litre is in the filter room which is a side lean too fully insulated etc for tropical plants for winter so itā€™s ideal. Itā€™s 6 ft by 18ft so could have quite a few different tanks in the future and actually run a sump too ā€¦

You and your wife have a lovely routine with your fish tank it seems. We do the same thing here, usually with the tank in the library. We sit there and our 3 dogs lay at our feet or beside/on us and we watch the aquarium while the automated lights slowly dim down over a 2 hour period. It is very relaxing. Iā€™m glad youā€™re are tuned in to your fish and what you can do to help them stay happy and stress free. That all sounds wonderful. You have quite the set up there. Many of us are envious, Iā€™m sure. <grin>
