Hi All
New to all this and have a couple of questions

I have an 80ltr with 2 angel, 2 mollies, 2 CAE. All seem to be getting on well with no real issues; however I know the CAE's may be a problem later on.
What would your suggestions be? remove them now or see how it goes?
I plan to move them all to a 160ltr shortly and am looking to add some smaller fish. Would like some cory or some other small bottom feeder and maybe a group of smaller schooling fish but not to small that the angels will go for them when they grow up. Any suggestions
The 160ltr is almost ready now, I have added some wood to this after boiling and soaking for ever and it is still leaching, how long is this likely to last, I don't mind the colour to much?
Sorry for the long post and if i have posted to the wrong section.
Thanks

The tannins from the bogwood can leech for aaaaaages. If it starts bothering you you can add a charcoal bag to your filter. That should clear it up for you.

Took me over a week to get mine out. Obviously it depends on the size of the wood.

I was boiling up water, leaving it to soak in boiling water over night, change again and leave in boiling water during the day.

Big effort, but it soon goes.

mine has been leaching for at least a month, and thats while being kept in a heated tank. i also dont mind the colour, and its more likely to be doing something good for the fish as oppose to bad. im fish in cycling so do regular water changes anyway that helps dilute the colouring.

as for fish i think cories are mint. loads of really nice looking ones to choose from. also plecs, i'd get a nice sized plec, i brought a nice rusty plec for a tenner a few days ago, apparantly maxes out at about 8 inches, its currently about half that. it is decimating my plants though, the LFS did warn me of this.

i used to throw it in the
water butt out side and leave
it for at least two months or more

In terms of the corys and the angelfish, I have found that the angels don't bother at all with the corys. As long as you have a nice group of corys then everyone should keep themself to themself :p

As far as schooling fish goes, currently I have a shoal of harlequins in with my angelfish and they are lovely in my opinion. They like to shoal together around the tank and neither the harlequins or the angelfish bother each other. Harlequins are also known for being very peaceful fish that don't fin nip or cause trouble :)

Hope that helps!

Claire

Hi
Thanks for all your replys, very helpful. I had a look at harlequens and cories today, both look good for the set up i want and a good size to. Want smaller fish so i can have more variety
