Some guppies will drop some of the fry and wait hours or even a couple day before dropping the rest

Honestly I'm not really sure. I know mine have done that and so have some of my friends. Maybe stress? They start and then feel it's not safe for their fry? I know they will swim to different areas of the tank to distribute them for higher survival chances. They can also start a pregnancy and re absorb their fry in some cases.
