New To Bettas

Wonder if you could help i bought my some today a new betta he has it in a 5g hexagonal tank with a long plant in it. I was wondering if we c ould put a couple of female bettas in with him would this be ok or maybe just one what do you all think?

No females!! Unless you plan on breeding them, which takes a lot of time and experience!! If you don't plan on breeding, putting a female in with a male will just result in a lot of fighting, ripped fins and probably a dead fish! If you want a companion for your male in his gallon you may want to look in to getting a couple of cories, a snail and african dwarf frog. Hope I helped

how comes you can put them in to breed together but not share a tank confused

and here is a pic of the little man my little boy has called his Frankie Knuckles The Fighting Fish as he thinks the fish looks a bit gangster

When you breed they usually even get beat up a little. The girl I spawned is now missing half of her tail. But when you breed them you keep a close eye on them, and if they get way too aggressive toward eachother you usually remove one. Just leaving a male and female together w/o almost constant supervision will almost certainly result in a dead fish.

Hey welcome to the forum! Bettas are called fighting fish for a reason... males DO NOT get along they will fight.. so its best to have them in diffrent tanks!
