my old Rasbora (scissortail) fishy? I started a small 5 gallon tank a month or so ago and figured I'd move my lone fish from the 10 gallon tank he's in and get him a couple of friends. I'm only gonna' put 5 small fish (max.) in the tank. I thought I'd get him a couple of fish like himself and maybe a couple of mollies or zebra danios...how does that sound? Any other suggestions? Thanks for any advice-

Why move him to the 5 gallon- that is a tiny tank? Schooling fish should really have bigger schools as well- 5-6 individuals at least. And a 5 gallon is too small for either mollies or danios; they need at least 20 gallons to move around. Danios are also schooling, 6-8+ is best. So I would keep your one surviving
?rasbora in the 10 gallon and buy him a school of friends.

I can do that. Are there any smaller fish that would do okay in a 5 gallon tank? I'd hate to waste that one... ;)

I have a 5UK Gallon with one Dwarf Puffer and a small Otto... I think this is pretty much the limit for this size tank (including substrate, plants, wood etc)... putting any shoaling fish (in their suggested minimum numbers) in a 5G is not good!... what about a single Betta?... or some shrimp?...

I'd have to agree with with bogwood. Your best bet for the five gallon is a single fish - one that is better off alone than in a community tank. Like a puffer or a betta.
