Hey everyone,

I'm having a major fishy reshuffle in the next few weeks as I'm getting a lovely juwqel trigon 350 as some of my fishes need a bigger house!

It mean's i'm now going to have an empty tank to play with. I've been contemplating a chiclid/gourami tank. I really want to put a pair of firemouth chiclid's, a pair of blue gourami's, a pair of kissing gourami's and a pair or two of dwarf gourami's, then maybe a plec and a small shoal of cory's or something like that for the bottom of the tank. The tank's 120 litres.

any thoughts..... good/bad fish combination.... too many fish etc?? I'm a little concerned about the firemouths, heard mixed reports on how agressive they can be, would they be ok with gourami's?? If not, has anyone got any suggestions cos it's the firemouth's I really want :D

ta very muchly!

I think 2 firemouths would fill up that stocking list all by themselves!

Most of those fish you mentioned are too big...except the dwarf gouramis and corys (i dont know how big blue gouramis get). Some plecs can get huge, while some are small, I dont know which plecs you are talking about

u reckon ?? back to the drawing board then i think.

the blue gourami's I'd be taking from another tank, they're about 4 yrs old and 4 inches long, wouldn't think they'd grow any more?

hadn't made any decisions on plec's yet, probably have my royal in there while I'm growing him up to go in the 350l but after that I don't know.

I'm just playing with ideas at the moment really.

any suggestions gratefulyl received!

Clown Plecs only grow 4.5 inches, i *think*, you could have one in a 29-30 gallon.

How long is the tank?

Edit-wait, did i read wrong, you are getting a 350 Liter tank? I meant that 2 firemouths would fill a 120 liter tank!

sorry, probably didn't explain myself very well, i'm getting a new 350l, my fish from the 120l are going in there with the royal plec when he's bigger, so this will leave my 120 empty so I'm wondering what to do with them.

do really fancy the firemouths but if it's not big enough I'll have to do without! what about if I stuck to dwarf gourami's in with them?

the 120l is aprox 120cm long. I wouldn't mind sacrificing the cory's to get a plec if it needed more room at the bottom of the tank.

The 120 liter is big enough, just barely, but still big enough for 2 firemouths

Wow, that is a LONG 30 gallon! 48"! You have plenty of space at the bottom of the tank!

I'm not sure, but I think you could get a shoal of corys and a clown plec (or any one of those smaller plecs) in that tank, it is very long!.

so I could have a pair by themselves but they prolly wouldn't be v happy then, do they mind being by themselves.... could have 1 then a couple of gourami's or something along those lines?

aye it's long but not that tall/deep.

cheers for your help by the way, muchos appreciated 8)
