As promised pictures...

decided on 8 Rummy nose Tetras and 6 Peppered Cory to add to the 6 Longfin Zebra Danios we started with.

Water levels are still fine, had double zeros for 5 days now. Did a water change anyway today with the addition of new fish. Will be keeping my eye on the levels for the next month, only then we will look at any other additions. (apart from maybe some shrimp) Suggestions welcome.

Still unsure what large fish to put in... we really want to get that tank 80% stocked with the addition of a couple of small plecs and some colourful platys and the shrimps as said, but then save the 20% for something bigger, as a centrepiece if you will... any suggestions? Went to maidenhead aquatics and was told that 2 discus would be ideal... From a little research this appears to be normals LFS advice!

Anyway, enough ramblig, heres pics, excuse the quality... phone camera!

Were hoping to get some more foliage / hiding places at the back behind the cetnre cave, when we can find some reasonably priced!

Comments welcome!

Matt and Belinda,

I like the layout of your new tank. How big is the tank? Thanks for sharing the pictures.

tank is 48x15x16 then hood etc on top... Had to do a bit of a mod after the original shelf broke but all set up and wires hidden now :)

Fed them an frozen food last night but didn't realise the size of the larvae until it defrosted, soom had to whip them out as the danios and tetras struggled to eat them!

Both the danios and tetras are shoaling together now too :-D

That's funny about the frozen food - glad you got it sorted out!

the tank looks great, keep up the great work. Like you, I would wish the fish would stay still for a photo, im still trying to get some good pictures of them before they dart off.

thanks for sharing the pics :good:

thanks all... Corys must have settled in, i can never find them all at any one time! Now have three danios shoaling and acting like the tetras, and the three larger danios acting as normal. The danios that are the same size as the tetras have joined them, which is nice to see!

thanks all...

had first sight of any nitrite (1) today after some intensive feeding and tripling the stock level...

going well though.. all fish happy and eating well!

Super looking tank. I have the same Corys as you and they don't stop laying eggs!! Keep yours eyes peeled for small white blobs on the glass/plants! :hyper:
