Hi All,I am sharing pics of my new half moon betta acquired from Petco. I so hope he survives as he's an active betta and in just one week is interacting with me. I put him in a Baby Biord tank and sent it up with a Zen feeling as I find that relaxing. The tank holds 4 gallons of water and I put a heater in it so far so good with the tank. Is anyone familiar with the Biord?

I'm thinking of adding a few other fish like Pgymy Corys or Neon Tetras but will wait a while for the tank to cycle.

Here are the pics; thanks for viewing. :)

Very nice! Beautiful fish, and I like your set up too! Though I might suggest adding a couple of live plants? It just helps with the water quality and they also oxygenate the water too!

Also, I agree, no more fish should be added. The tank just isn't really big enough. :good:

I have a 30L biorb myself (the step up from yours) and I'm planning to stock it with 6 male endlers and a male fighter as soon as I can sort all my stockings out! :D

Thanks much for the kind comments and advice; I definitely will not add anymore fish to his tank. He's kind of picky this am not eating hummm is that normal?

He is wonderfully colourful! Very interesting colour combos aswell, wish the Bettas near me were like that :(

Pretty much the same advice as the others, dont add anything else other than a few live plants.

PS I LOVE that buddha!

What type of love plant would you suggest; I've never used them before since my cichlids would destroy them. I'd love to see pics of you 30L biorb once you set it up :)

Smile I feel in love with him too can always use more "happy"

Maybe something like elodea? That works as a good oxeygenator and it also roots quite well in a biOrb.

In mine I use twisted vallis and another plant which I can't remember the name of
These root pretty well though, and IMO with only 2 types of plants in the tank, it looks a lot better than when I used to have just one of loads of different types.

Maybe you could try putting in some twisted vallis and normal vallis in your biOrb, along with keeping the pebbles and the little man, and you could possibly try the silk plants with the cichlids? I'm not really sure if they'd try to eat them, but it might be worth a try? :good:

You might want to take those vallis out of the lead weights and foam, the root system wont grow properly whilst its still on :)

Majority of them have actually rooted to pieces of media already, actually, so I think I'll leave them on for now. Best just to leave them to it if it's working well

Well then at least take the lead off, it really restricts root growth, they may have rooted to media pieces, but they arent growing properly, i know, ive been there!

"Fantastic" tank you've got there I love the live plants, love it. Thanks for the suggestions...I'll give them all a try. I wondered if a live plant would root in the biOrb you answered that question. :)

Thank you!
Hopefully you'll be able to find some nice plant that you like in your LFS and pop them in :good:
